Life: Word 1

Life:the condition that distinguishes organisms from inorganic objects and dead organisms, being manifested by growth through metabolism, reproduction, and the power of adaptation to environment through changes originating internally.

If life symbolizes all that breathes and lives than what is of the earth? We hear that the world lives but clearly rocks can not breathe, so whats the answer? Is the earth alive? The earth does not reproduce, nor does it grow through metabolism. What is then the answer? I think the earth is just a giant factory working under gravity, heat, and space. The life we know today was made in two ways, either the scientific approach, or the religious approach, and after so much going on right now in the world. We obviously can't agree. Scientists are probably more right than ever, they have well suggested theory, they have research programs turning up even more answers. But religion gives something to look into, something to work for. For instance, Buddhism, this is a very physically demanding religion. But thats for another day. Life is one the most challenged words in the planet I think. So what do you think?
